Description from Composer and Collaborator Rob Deemer:
Cantos is a series of three movements focused on three types of sounds: percussion, strings and wind. Each movement is matched up with a natural element embodying the type of sound. For percussion, rain drops collide with water. The vibrations of strings are visualized underwater in the long lines of seaweed and the motion of the current. The final movement rises up out of the water to see the wind embodied in the leaves and eventually in the clouds themselves.

Also performed on Nov. 2, 2014 at 3 PM at Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University as part of the concert Sound Perspectives, East and West, presented by the Society for New Music.
